Based in the hills of Castiglione Tinella, the Ghiga family has been in the business of cultivating wine grapes since the early 1970s. Launched by Mario Ghiga, the family planted vines for the region’s highly regarded Moscato wines, eventually expanding into Barbera and Dolcetto and then making its own wines.
The vineyard tending and winemaking were passed down to Mario’s daughter and son, Angela and Vittorio. Today, the winery is managed by Angela’s sons Enrico and Davide, who both studied at the acclaimed school of oenology at Alba in Piemonte.
Enrico and Davide are passionate about producing quality wines that represent their terroir. Green agriculture is important to them, and they have eliminated the use of pesticides and herbicides.
