For over 100 years, and now in its 6th generation, the Rocca Family has been an important name in Italian winemaking. Started by Francesco after he experienced military service in Puglia at the turn of the 19th century, successive generations built the operation in Puglia, and were at the leading edge of quality improvements made by the industry.
More recently, the family added Piemonte winemaking to its holdings through its acquisition of the Dezzani brand.
Rocca’s wines provide an exceptional quality and great value for wine drinkers. Their wines include more known varieties like Pinot Grigio and Barbera, but they also make lesser known grapes like Nero di Troia and Albarossa approachable through their great quality, drinkability, and affordability.
Rocca has invested considerably in its winemaking operation, automated bottling system, and rigorous quality control.

Modero 8 Gocce Rosso Piemonte DOC: a blend of 8 grapes that provides a complex, drinkable, affordable, and versatile red wine. Its 3 international varieties – Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Syrah – provide body and structure to the wine, while the 5 local varieties – Barbera, Dolcetto, Freisa, Bonarda, and Albarossa – lend red and black fruits and crispness. Oak aging rounds out the wine and provides pepper and baking spice. Data Sheet
Dezzani Albarossa Piemonte DOC: the product of a genetic crossing between Barbera and Nebbiolo di Dronero, Albarossa is a lesser known grape that is growing in prominence. It brings the acidity and dark fruit of the Barbera, and the tannin of the Nebbiolo di Dronero. Oak aging rounds it out and contributes spiciness to this great value, full bodied red wine. Dezzani is part of the Albarossa Club, a group of producers with a mission to advance Albarossa as a significant grape on the wine scene. Data Sheet
Nero di Troia Puglia IGT: while Negroamaro and Primitivo get more attention in Puglia, its 3rd grape should also get some attention. Also known as Uva di Troia, this red grape provides a ripe, warm and full bodied red wine that complements Puglian staple dishes, like orecchiette with sausage and broccoli rabe. In Southern Italy, spice becomes more prominent in cuisine, and this red wine works well with spicy food, which can sometimes be challenging with wine. A reference to the mythical Troy, reflecting millennia of Greek influence in Puglia going back to the Mycenaeans. Data Sheet
