The Pellegrini family has a history of grape growing back to 1900. For many generations, the family passed down its traditions, and in 2000, Villa Corniole was launched by Onorio Pellegrini.
Today, Onorio and his wife Maddalena tend the vines; their three daughters, Sara, Linda and Sabina, also work the vineyards and manage the business.
In a relatively short time, Villa Corniole has become an established and important producer in Trentino. They have an excellent portfolio of wines that are the important varietals in the region, including Müller Thurgau, Gewürtztraminer, Pinot Grigio, Teroldego, and Lagrein.
The family has vineyards in two locations: the Cembra Valley, of volcanic origin and home to its Müller Thurgau and Gewürztraminer varietals; and Piana Rotaliana, an area at the foot of Alpine cliffs rich in calcareous and Dolomitic minerality, where Pinot Grigio, Lagrein, and Teroldego are grown.
Products:
Pinot Grigio Pietramontis Trentino DOC: A crisp, clear pale straw wine with silver highlights, youthful citrus and green apple aromas, and orange blossom and limestone characters. Tastes as fresh as the mountain breezes that characterize the regional climate. Data Sheet
Pinot Grigio Pietramontis Ramato Dolomiti IGT: “Coppery” as its name suggests, this wine is produced with a short maceration on the grape skins, before being drained and fermented. It has a beautiful salmon-orange appearance, and very youthful citrus, floral, and mineral characters with a small amount of vanilla. This is a rather structured Pinot Grigio that also sees some time in small oak barrels. Data Sheet
Müller-Thurgau Pietramontis Trentino Superiore DOC Valle di Cembra: Grown at some of the highest vineyard elevations in Europe, Müller-Thurgau has a characteristic wildflower burst in its aroma. Complemented by lemon and green apple, this is an age worthy white wine that will develop for five to ten years. Data Sheet
Teroldego Pietramontis Trentino DOC: The most important red grape in Trentino, Teroldego is a full bodied red wine that will complement intense dishes like lasagna and roasted meat. It brings a dark fruit character, firm tannin, and an Alpine herbal note that make it particularly food friendly. Data Sheet
